Q:
Who can apply?
A:
We accept (post-) graduate students working towards Masters or Ph.D. degrees, but we usually admit some advanced undergraduates, as well as researchers and practitioners. All applicants should be fluent in English.

How can I apply?
A:
Please download the application form and attach a short bio, a letter of recommendation and a copy of university transcripts in English (or Greek). Non-academic applicants should provide instead of a transcript a full description of their job / research position.

Where do I have to send my application?
A:
Please send it electronically to olympia@navarinonetwork.org. After receiving your application you will maintain an acknowledgment of receipt from us.

Until when can I apply?
A:
You can send your application electronically by May 3, 2017. Early applications are strongly encouraged, especially if you apply for a scholarship.
Please also note that early applications submitted by March 3, 2017, will receive a 50€ discount on the registration fee.

When do I receive an answer about my participation?

Decisions will be mailed out by May 10, 2017.

How do I pay the registration fee?
A:

You can either transfer the 150 Euros non-refundable registration fee to our paypal account or make a wire transfer to the following bank account:

Q:
Until when do I have to pay the non-refundable registration fee?
A:
The non-refuntable registration fee has to be paid by 31 May 2017.

Q:
How can I pay the tuition and board charges?
A:
According to the cycle you have chosen, you can either pay the tuition and board charges together with the registration fee in advance, or you can pay the tuition and board charges in cash directly when you arrive in Nafplio.

Can I pay in US-Dollars/ Pounds etc. ?
A:
Both registration fee and tuition fee have to be payed in Euros.

Can I attend two cycles?
A:
Of course you can and we strongly encourage you to do so! In that case you automatically become eligible to apply for a scholarship and you do NOT have to pay the registration fee twice.

Will you pay my flight to Greece?
A:
No. All participants are traveling to and from Athens International Airport on their own expenses.

How do I get from Athens city centre to Athens International Airport?
A:
In order to reach the airport, please check out the website of Athens metro.

Q:
Can I leave earlier? / Can I come later?
A:
If it is absolutely necessary, yes you can. However you have to keep in mind that you have to come to/leave Nafplio on your own expenses and inform us in advance. The best way is to take the public bus transportation system. Please have a look at the next question.

Q:
How can I reach Nafplio from Athens on my own?
A:
The only way to reach Nafplio on your own is by public bus transportation (KTEL). The buses leave from Athens coach station Kifissos and will bring you to Nafplio (Please check out the timetable).

Where can I stay in Athens?
A:
Athens is always worth a stay. There are plenty of hotels. If you need any help organizing your accommodation please contact us.

Q:
Can I bring my partner?
A:
Yes you can bring your partner. However the OSA does not pay for his/her accommodation. Please make sure that you inform the Coordination team in advance.

Do I need a visa for Greece?
A:
Greece is a member of the European Union and a Schengen country. Participants from other EU countries do not need a visa for Greece. Please have a look at the website of the Greek embassy in your country for further visa information.

Q:
I need a visa for Greece. What do I have to do?
A:
Get in contact with the Greek embassy in your country, they will provide you with all the information needed. If needed the OSA will provide all admitted foreign students the necessary documentation in support of a visa application.

A:
The address of the Olympia Summer Academy’s venue is: Hotel Elena, 17 Sidiras Merarchias St., Nafplio, Argolida 211 00, Greece.

Q:
What is the weather conditions in Nafplio?
A:
Nafplio is hot in the summer and quite humid. Make sure you dress lightly, cover your head, drink a lot of water and juices and eat lightly. Bring sun and mosquito lotion with you. Also, a swimming suit as we will be going often to the beach.

What dress-code do I have to follow?
A:
Casual and summery. Please make sure that you dress lightly according to the hot weather and the high humidity of Nafplio.

I have allergies. What do I have to do?
A:
If you suffer from a medical condition or an allergy please make sure you let us know in advance. But you don’t have to worry, there is a fully equipped hospital in Nafplio.

Are single rooms available?
A:
Yes there are single rooms available. Please let us know as early as possible if you desire a single occupancy room, at the cost of the extra fee of 50 euros/night, since availability is extremely limited. You can pay the additional single room costs directly to us in cash upon arrival.

Is there free Wi-Fi available?
A:
There is a Wi-Fi connection all over the Hotel. Please bring your laptops with you, as access to the internet will be important for your homework.

There will be excursions, cultural and social activities and extra curricular activities as well as several beach trips.
